In days gone by, entire families would descend on this area from the cities to enjoy a taste of country air. Their "holiday" would be spent picking hops by day and partying by night. David Winter The Tickled Trout House
The river that runs beside this pub is rich in trout and crayfish, and the menu is based largely upon these gourmet delights. The materials used for building this characteristic inn came from an old ruined fort, which once guarded a bridge spanning the river. The river itself is a favorite haunt for anglers who like nothing more than to retire to the cozy bars and enjoy a good pint after a day of pitting their wits against fish of all sizes. "The Tickled Trout" is a limited-edition issue in The Pubs & Taverns of England Collection of David Winter Cottages from Enesco.

David Winter The Good Intent House (Decorative Knickknacks)

After a long day in the studio, David Winter relaxes with friends in this quaintly named pub, which he says has an excellent bill of fare and wholesome ales. Many ideas for new sculptures have been born here, over a pint of ale beside the blazing fire in the inglenook. "The Good Intent" is a limited-edition issue in The Pubs and Taverns of England Collection of David Winter Cottages from Enesco.
