Style Applesauce
8 large apples, peeled, cored and cut into
thick slices
1/8 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Combine apples, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a
boil. Watch very carefully and simmer 4 minutes or until
apples are part sauce and part whole. Do not overcook. It
should be thick. Turn off heat and add spices as indicated or
to taste.
