Kentucky Style Baked Ham1 country style ham
5 onions slices
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
2 bay leaves
1/2 cup unsulphured molasses
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons dry mustard
Whole cloves
Place the ham in a large pot and let soak for 6 hours,
draining and refilling 2 times. Drain ham. Place in a large
pot and cover with water. Add the onions, vinegar, bay leaves
and molasses; stir and mix. Bring to a boil and then simmer
for 15 minutes per pound. Allow ham to cool in the broth. Set
the oven to 375F degrees. Score the fat in a diamond pattern.
Combine the sugar and mustard. Place cloves in the center of
the diamonds and pat the sugar-mustard mix all over the ham.
Bake 20 minutes or until brown.
