Pears L'Orange

1 can (29 ounce) Barlett pear halves
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
2 Tablespoons orange liqueur
Vanilla Ice-Cream


Drain pears, reserve 1/2 cup pear syrup. Place butter in microwave-proof dish. Microwave at HIGH uncovered 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, lemon juice, orange peel, reserved pear syrup and pears.
Microwave at HIGH uncovered, 4 minutes or until hot, rotate once. Blend in liqueur. Serve warm in stemmed sherbet glasses with scoops of vanilla Ice-Cream
