Baklava Fingers
CAKE
1 lb. Filo Dough
3 cups walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup confectioner's sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1 cup Rendered Butter
1 1/2 cups syrup
SYRUP
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
DIRECTIONS
CAKE
Mix nuts, sugar and spices. Set aside.Cut rolled filo dough in
three parts.Place one sheet lengthwise on the table and brush
with butter. Fold in half and brush again. Place 2 tbsp. nut
mixture on the narrow side of the sheet. Roll.Repeat the
process with the rest of the dough, placing the sticks in a
greased pan. Brush with butter. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or
until golden brown in an oven
preheated to 275 degrees. After baking, dip each stick in the
cooled syrup. Mix sugar and water and bring to a boil. Add
lemon juice and boil for 7 more minutes.
