Oven Barbecue Chicken

1 Delmarva chicken (3lbs.)
3 tablespoons fat
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
2 heaping tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Sauce:

1/2 cup water
3 teaspoons vinegar
1/2 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 can tomato sauce

Cut chicken into serving size pieces and brown
in hot fat in frying pan; set browned chicken pieces in roasting pan. Brown chopped onion in remaining fat; add the rest of the sauce ingredients and let simmer 30 minutes; pour sauce over chicken and cover pan. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees F., for 1 hr, or until tender. Serves 4.
