SugarPlums! Bacon &
Blue Cheese Appetizers
The combination of sweet and salty flavors makes these
bite-size appetizers a hit for any occasion. They can be
served warm or at room temperature.
Ingredients
12 SugarPlums! halved lengthwise and pitted
3 ounces soft blue cheese such as Stilton, Maytag, Pt. Reyes
Blue, or Danish Blue
8 slices thin, lean bacon, cut each slice into 3 pieces
Preparation
Preheat a broiler.
Place a rounded teaspoon of cheese in the cavity of each prune
half. Wrap each cheese-filled half with a piece of bacon and
fasten with a toothpick. Place cheese-side-up on a baking
sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Place the baking sheet 6 to 8 inches from the broiler and
broil until the bacon is crispy, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove and
let stand a few minutes before serving, or serve warm or at
room temperature. Makes 24 appetizers, serves 8 to 12.
